Human Resource Council 

Human Resource Council was created by the HR Council for the Nonprofit Sector.

The organizations actions were guided by five strategic priorities:

  • Strengthen HR management practices
  • Support skills development and work-related learning
  • Build and share knowledge about the nonprofit labour force
  • Promote leadership development and succession planning

The HR Council for the Nonprofit Sector (HR Council) works with organizations, educators, labour and government to identify and address issues related to paid employees in the voluntary and non-profit sector.

This HR Management Standards provides information on:

  • HR Management Policy Framework and Employment Legislation
  • Getting the Right People
  • Managing People and their Work Workplaces that Work
  • Training, Learning & Development HR Planning

HR Management Standards 

Organizations can use these standards to:

  • Examine and evaluate their current HR policies and practices
  • Determine where there is room for improvement
  • Learn how the standards and a range of related resources can be used to improve HR policies and practices
